When Demons Come to Church

In this passage, we see that a demon possessed man was in the synagogue and spoke up when Jesus preached with authority. Why is a demon doing in church? We examine this question, as well as consider what the Bible teaches us generally about demons. We tend to be practical atheists when it comes to demons. We don't want to fall into the error of "casting demons" out of people who simply need an aspirin. But we go too far the other direction and practically act as though there were no such thing. If our eyes were opened to see the spiritual world, we would likely be shocked at all the demonic and angelic activity around us.
