A Gentle Ministry: Proving the Gospel by Your Christ-like Gentleness

Idea: You prove the gospel by your gentleness because your actions take on the character of Christ.

Intro: It has come to attention in recent years that there seems to be a new breed of Christians. This group seems to think that to be a conservative Christian you also have to be obnoxious, rude and in your face. It doesn't take long on the internet especially to find discussion groups that are plagued with really rough conversations and personalities. It can also be found in person. It doesn't take long for such a personality to grate against the message of the gospel, even leaving some with a nasty taste in their mouths. "If that's the Christian gospel, you can have it."

In contrast to that trend, Paul defends the gospel message by calling believers to remember his gentleness among them, a gentleness he compares to a nursing mother. From this, my purpose today is to encourage you to see how your witness includes your actions, how there is a certain sense in which you prove the gospel by your gentleness.
