Synopsis of Faith

The writer believed that persevering faith in Jesus was the answer to every challenge confronting his Jewish readers. So far from distancing them from their faithful Israelite forefathers, such perseverance actually bound them together, showing these Hebrews to be true children of Abraham, just as they were. This is the premise behind chapter eleven and its "roll-call of faith," but the writer saw the need to begin with a brief synopsis of faith and its operation.
