Walls Torn Down at the Cross

This is the fifth message on the Cross of Christ during this series explaining the meaning of John 19, depicting Christ's suffering on the cross. The particular power of the cross I am addressing today is, in tearing down walls of division. In these verses it is clear that the cross unleashes the power to make us one new man, one body in Christ, one family of brothers and sisters and fathers and mothers. Our unity is a spiritual unity that squashes the enmity (hostility) we feel toward our brethren – for whatever reason. In these verses the power of the cross is explained from several angles under these headings explaining what has happened to us as a result of the cross.
