Life — A Continuous Celebration

A Forever Feast

"ALL the days of the troubled are wrong, [for they think nothing ever goes their way,] but he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast [because for them, everyday is full of beautiful things to celebrate]" (Proverbs 15:15).

As Hebrews teaches us to, 'Look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross and despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, for fear you become weary and discouraged in your souls.' (Hebrews 12:2-3)

The more aware we are of His presence, in everyday living, the more alert and active we are to celebrate the things of life and grace AND praise the presence of our Shepherd. Remember what He told those struggling upon the sea of life, as the storms of the sea raged and beat against the boat they were in. He said:

"Be of good cheer — [it is I] — do not be afraid." (Matthew 14:27) Glory!!!

His presence, for us who believe, is the ONLY thing that separates us from cheerfully celebrating life or fearfully fretting over the daily troubles that rage against us on the sea of life.

It's His presence that makes the difference. And, unlike any other, Jesus knows how to lead, feed and meet the daily and everlasting need of His own sheep. "For Thou art with me... to lead, feed and meet all my needs, for Your name's sake..." (Psalm 23)
