Redemption

Redemption is not an act of man. It is an act of God. It deals with buying back a prior possession. Since man is the passive beneficiary of redemption, it follows that he cannot redeem himself. His redemption requires a redeemer, a representative, to complete the transaction which is purchased, not with money, but with blood. Jesus Christ is that intercessor and his blood redeemed his people from their sins.
