Tophet, Place of Fire

Jeremiah was instructed to go to the potter and purchase a clay jar, take some elders, and go to the Potsherd Gate to preach a message announcing the ruin of the high places in the Valley of Hinnom.

Jesus unfolds the meaning of this place and its reference to the eternal punishment of sinners. Hell (Gehennah, Valley of Hinnom). This terrible place is literal and awful. It is the destination of those who know not the Savior, Jesus Christ.
