Ephraim is Joined To His Idols

"Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone" (Hosea 4:17).

As we look at this text we first see a backslidden people. There was a lack of knowledge, they left off to take heed to the Lord and they were joined to idols. Next we see a call to separation. God calls His people to be separate from the world around them—not live in isolation but not to love the world or be influenced by it. Finally we observe there is hope. God will deal with His people so that they are ashamed of their sinful behavior which will lead to true repentance.
