Therefore the Virgins Love You

There are a group of persons mentioned here who are related to the Bride, who are introduced to us here in verse 3. They are called “the virgins” by the Bride. And they are said to love the Bridegroom too. Indeed the Bride considers herself one of the virgins because she says in verse 4, “We will be glad and rejoice in you.” “We will remember your love more than wine.” And so it will be appropriate this afternoon to ask the following questions. “Who are these virgins?” And why do they love the Bridegroom? Let us answer the first question by making it the introduction to the other.
