It Is I, Do Not Be Afraid

Mark 6:45-52 portrays Jesus walking on water and calming a storm, demonstrating his divine power over nature and reinforcing his identity as the Son of God. This passage is significant as it reveals Jesus' authority over the physical world, instilling faith and awe in his disciples. It serves as a reminder of the importance of trust in God during life's storms, both literal and metaphorical, encouraging believers to have faith even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. Additionally, the disciples' initial fear and disbelief followed by their amazement and worship underscore the journey of faith and growth that followers of Christ experience, illustrating the transformative impact of encountering the living God.

God has revealed himself in Christ so that we may know him and fear no more.
