The “faith” part of “repentance and faith” is relying upon Christ’s sacrifice for your sin. Think of the Old Testament sacrificial system…the act of laying one’s hands on the head of the lamb is the idea of saving faith in Scripture. It is relying upon Christ as the payment for one’s sin!
