Salt and Light: Engaging the Culture?

Jesus calls us to be "salt and light," but what does that mean? Many mistakenly believe that it means we must engage the culture and seek to make this world a better place. Many see it as our calling to preserve society from corruption, or to make society more palatable to God. These ideas introduce foreign concepts into the teaching of Jesus and distort His words. This message explains the true significance of Jesus' call to be salt and light and explains why it matters that we be very precise and accurate in interpreting and applying His teaching in this regard.
