Where is our hope today? In 1Samuel 8:1-22 we see that the nation of Israel had a misplaced hope. We see that Israel's response to trials was control; Samuel's response to trials was prayer; and God's response was judgment. Like Israel, OUR misplaced hope can be in someONE else or someTHING else other than God. But as we fix our hope on God, we put away our idols, fill our hearts and minds with truth, and practice prayer.
