Selfish Faith

The old song says, "Now I know that He is mine, and I'm His forever." Both phrases are integral to our understanding of salvation. Jesus is our Saviour through faith in His blood, but we are His, twice-owned, through creation and conversion.

The Jews in Luke chapter four had an unhealthy ownership of the prospects of Messiah, and when Christ came to interpret the truth of Isaiah sixty-one in the synagogue of the Jews, they rejected this One who had come to save the world and preach the gospel unto the Gentiles.

He is mine! Sing it o'er again! But, I am His!
