I, yet not I

THIS IS A PROCLAMATION GOD WISHES THAT ALL OF US CAN AND WOULD MAKE… BY GOD’S GRACE I AM WHAT I AM!

But take a look at the statement once again and let suggest to you that Paul is making a rather bold and almost boastful statement as well. For a moment you could imagine his thumb on his chest as he says it. “By the grace of God I am what I am.” Now who here desires to come up in front of us all, open up before us the book of your life or the chapter of your last week and then say with a ring of authority. “By God’s Grace, by his power to make me good and great, I am what I am. What you see here is the outcome of the power of God influencing me to goodness and greatness. ”

But this is a boast God desires to give us. How shall He do this for us? How shall we come to this boast by His grace?
