Give Us This Mountain — When God Makes the Impossible — Possible

Ever since... do you have any "ever since" moments in your life? Or have you said this before, "Ever since this happened, [it] altered the course of my life..."? I'm sure you have. But have you had an "ever since" moment or moments with Jesus?

I love to read about heroes of the faith and their "ever since" moments. Caleb is one of them, and at 85 years old... He said,

"And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, EVER SINCE the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old... and I'm just as vibrant, vigorous and victorious as I was then, to start and finish a war. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day..." (Joshua 14:10-12).

It's obvious, by this passage and through personal experience with individuals I've encountered over the years, that a person with an "ever since" moment with Jesus has not only a Person, but also promises from Him, to cling to... and He and His promises makes a world of difference in their spirit, strength, sight and service.

I can hear Caleb in this passage... can you? "Remember the word You gave to me, Your servant, a word upon which You have caused and given me hope. This promise, ever since You gave it to me, has been my comfort through all my challenges and troubles, for Your word continues to give me life" (Psalm 119:49-50). A better question would be, can you hear yourself in this passage?

I'm thanking my King and Redeemer for the revelation of that Psalm and the "ever since" moments on my journey with Him....
