What's In A Pronoun?
Series One Another Duties
258
The reciprocal pronoun translated "one another" occurs frequently in the New Testament epistles. The pronoun signifies a number of people who are alike and have mutual duties. Much of life and relationships within the church is revealed in the "one another" commands, exhortations and prohibitions of the New Testament. Their very frequency conveys the critical importance of practiced, demonstrated and brotherly relations in the local, visible churches of Christ. In this first of a series of messages on the "one another" passages the sense of the pronoun is explained, a litany of over 50 "one another" verses is read and the primary sphere where they are to be applied is identified.
