The Disciples' Prayer, Part 3

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, Jesus told them that, after acknowledging God as our holy heavenly father, the FIRST THING we were to ask for, is that His kingdom would come, and His will would be done on earth. Yet today, while we pray for ourselves and our families and our churches, how often does it even occur to us to pray for God's kingdom to come, and His will to be done on earth? Isn't God's will already being done here? Does not God '...do according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth?' (Daniel 4:35). Does not God have a timetable for Christ's return and the establishment of His kingdom? If so, why should we pray for it? Will our prayers effect the date of Christ's return? This message helps clarify the difference between God's 'Decretive Will' (the will of His decrees) and His 'Preceptive Will' (the will of His precepts). I think you will find it helpful.
