Act Like Men

Bound up in the imperative, "act like men," (I Corinthians 16:13) is the primary, fundamental and comprehensive virtue of true masculinity. It is the virtue of courage. "Act like men" is examined and especially in the light of the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament) translation of a litany of texts in Deuteronomy 31 and Joshua 1. Assurance of the presence of God, certainty of a righteous cause and confidence in providence as to the outcomes of one's efforts and endeavors are three supporting convictions that produce courage.
