William Mullan was reared in a Northern Irish home by his mother after his father was killed in the first World War. He rebelled against that upbringing and lived a life of sin and crime for many years. One night, when he was about to commit a robbery, God smote his heart with a passage from Revelation 6 that he'd heard preached at a Newtownards evangelistic meeting. "The great day of His wrath is come and who shall be able to stand?" It was this that brought Willie to Christ. Willie Mullan went on to become one of the greatest preachers in the British Isles. He pastored the Lurgan Baptist Church for many years with a regular attendance of 800 at the Wednesday night Bible studies. Thousands were converted through his ministry. Willie Mullan always preached with a tender heart. And yet a directness that let the sinner know that he meant business.
