Woe to the Stink Fruit

In Isaiah 5:8-30, we are shown 6 woes and 4 judgments
pronounced against Judah.
I. Woe to those who are greedy & oppress (vs. 8-10).
II. Woe to those who indulge the flesh and
ignore Yahweh (vs. 11-12).
Therefore—a specific judgment:
exile of hunger & thirst (v. 13).
Therefore—a complete judgment:
exile of death and destruction
(vs. 14-17).
III. Woe to those who draw sin and defy
Yahweh (vs. 18-19).
IV. Woe to those who invert sin (v. 20).
V. Woe to those who indulge their arrogance
(v. 21).

VI. Woe to those who are greedy & oppress
(vs. 22-23).

Therefore—a specific judgment:
exile, the quick work you requested
(v.24, cf. v. 19).
Therefore—a complete judgment:
exile, the unavoidable end
(vs. 25-30).
