The English Reformation

The English Reformation began with a return to Caesaropapism and the assertion of a Divine Right of Kings theory of government. For 140 years England slugged it's way through Tudor and Stewart dynasties to the point of Civil War over the authority of kings. Parliaments calling of the Westminster Assembly in 1643 was to focus Biblical light on the questions, in accordance with the example of Acts 15.
