15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. That's a simple request from our Lord.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; This word “comforter” in Greek means “advocate, someone to be with you, guide you, teach you, and instruct you”. He's not going to leave us like orphans. He's already told them that He's leaving, but they don't really understand what's about to happen. The comforter, the Holy Spirit, is with us today.
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. The world always wants tangible things. The world loves the scientific method. Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God the Father are all intangible. There is no so-called tangible proof, but He is there nonetheless. Most people of the world will not accept Christ. Even here in the Bible Belt, many are misled even though they go to church every Sunday and often more than that during the week. They really don't know how to be a Christian yet they claim to be Christian. Dwelling in you – that's the baptism all Christians receive just once. We need to surrender to the Holy Spirit and listen to it once we have it inside us.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Remember, in less than 24 hrs Christ will be dead.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Even though Jesus died, He lives again today. He rose from the dead as the ultimate example of how to overcome sin, by living a pure life. Us humans can't do that, .....
