Easy to Fail

How many times have I not seen that key in Scripture; the "fear of the LORD"? Here it is again. Fear the LORD. Could it be any plainer? We know that children often love their parents and are loved by those parents. However, there is an element of fear in that relationship that often works to keep children from being rebellious or recalcitrant. As I've noted before, it is a fear based on a bit of self-preservation for not wanting to come under a parent's disciplinary action. As children grow into adults, this often refines itself so that adult children fear causing their parents grief or sadness.
