Our Light Affliction

How on earth could this man, inspired of God, describe the afflictions that break the hearts of God's people in this world, those afflictions that wring out our very souls, those afflictions that cause us to wake up in the middle of the night, crying out like David of old, — "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? Is thy mercy clean gone forever? Wilt thou cast off forever?"
