Introduction

• “You Can’t Have Your Cake and Eat it too!”
• Can’t Practice Spiritual Adultery (Idolatry) without Suffering the Consequences from God

God’s Resolution in Judgment (Chapters 9 & 10)

1. Israel Cast Away/Blessings Withheld (Chapter 9)
   • Israel Attributed God’s Blessings to Baal (v. 1; Hosea 2:8)
   • Two Ways in which the Blessings of the Lord will be Withheld (vs. 3-6)
   o By removing them from the Land (vs. 3-4, 15, 17; Revelation 3:16)
   o By Causing the Land to Cease from Producing and their Children taken away (vs. 5-6, 10-14, 16)

2. Golden Calf Carried Away/The King Cut Off (Chapter 10)
   • The “Glory of Israel” is will taken Away – Their Comfort (vs. 1-2, 5-6, 8; Luke 23:30; Revelation 6:16; 9:1-9)
   • The Kings will also Cease – Their Security “Cut Off” (v. 7, 9-11; Romans 13:1-4)

D. God’s Resolution in Mercy (Chapters 11 – 13)
