When Are We Saved ?

Even though the Word of God is clear that we were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world and that Christ was slain from the foundation of the world. Had Christ not come and died on the cross and rose again our salvation would never have been finished and accomplished and His blood sacrifice would have been left undone. However, that would have been an impossiblity because of the covnenant between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit that Christ would come and be our sin bearer and that Christ's righteousness would be imputed to all of His people that he would bear their iniquity and that He would shed His precious blood on the cross for them. The Old Testament saints were saved through faith looking forward to the cross even though they died even before Christ came and died. We see Moses and Elijah speaking with Christ at the transfiguration about the forth coming death of Christ before Jesus had died. The gift of faith had been given to them brining about their salvation even prior to Christ's death in time. There is only one way of salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ for both the Old and New Testament Saints.
