Jesus the Beginning and End

We are used to looking at the world through the lens of current affairs and the speculation and prognoses of scientists (however accurate their assessment and predication may be). Christians are called to look at the world through the lens of Jesus Christ - Who He is as the Messiah and Son of God: His birth, death, resurrection, ascension, present work by his Holy Spirit, and his imminent return.
Jesus is ‘the beginning and the end˙ (Revelation 22:12), and this is a statement not just about his role in Creation and the end of the world, but about the meaning, purpose and goal of all things. It is in him that ‘the fulfilment of the ages has come.˙ (1 Corinthians 10:11), and this gives us reason for a sure hope."
