"Like a Mother"

This may seem like a strange text for Mothers' Day, but maybe not. It has been said that imitation is the highest form of compliment. Paul here pays mothers the highest compliment, gives to them the greatest honor, and rises up and calls them blessed by a simple comparison: we (apostles) were like you (mothers), v 7. You mothers set the standard for loving care, and we ministers of God's grace followed your example.
