Unashamed

God calls Christians to stake their lives wholeheartedly on the gospel of Christ.
This is one of the main points that Paul wants to communicate in his last letter to his young friend, and colleague, Timothy. Paul is writing from a dungeon prison in Rome. He has been arrested as a part of Nero’s intensified persecution of Christians. And he is quite confident that his life will soon be taken from him. So he writes Timothy to encourage him to carry on faithfully in proclaiming the gracious salvation of God. He exhorts him specifically to stake his life on the gospel of Christ and he likewise calls all Christians to do the same.
