Rejoice in the Surrounding Presence of God

God's people can have holy confidence in their God during unstable times.

Psalm 46 is a hymn divided into three stanzas. Stanza two exhorts us to rejoice in the surrounding presence of God. We are provided with two pictures of God which causes us to rejoice because He is there.

1. God is my Inner Calm. (46:4-5)
   A. A Serene City (46:4-5a)
   B. A Sure Confidence (46:5b)
2. God is my Invincible Captain. (46:6-7)
   A. A Serious Catastrophe (46:6a)
   B. A Spoken Command (46:6b)
   C. A Strong Commander (46:7)

Nothing in this world should terrify or unsettle you becuase Jesus Christ lives right in the middle of your life!
