Differing Responses to Babylon's Destruction

The sudden destruction of Babylon seems to be brought about by armies of nations that are opposing the anti-Christ in a battle for power on the earth. The destruction of such a power center will be felt worldwide.

The kings of the earth lament over the loss of the place they freely committed their acts of immorality.

The merchants will be impacted as the commercial activity in Babylon comes to a halt. The collapse of the seeming invincible financial and political capital comes as a crushing blow as wealth and power is gone.

Great mourning and lamenting settles on the city especially with great grief over material and financial losses overwhelms the whole world. The focus of the world on material wealth and their spiritual poverty become all the more apparent by their response to their losses. They are devoid of any perception of their spiritual condition.

The destruction of this satanic system prepares the way for Armageddon. The people of the world in their sinful stubbornness and rebellion are ready to do battle with Christ.
