Resurrection's Vivid Power

One of the great I AM texts found in John's Gospel, this declaration in the face of death in all its ugliness and corruption made it plain that only in Christ could there be any counter response to the ravages that death produces. Christ was making it clear to Martha, and to her sister, that their brother was a believer in Him, and that being such, even in the grip of the death of his mortal body, he was still alive. Christ made it plain that God is not the God of the dead but of the living. The only answer to death is to be found in the Risen Christ, the One Who came forth from the tomb in the power of an endless life.
