The Future of Satan

As we near the end of the book of Revelation, God gives us a clear understanding through John of the literal judgment of Satan. At this point, Christ has returned to claim His rightful position as King of Kings over planet earth. Satan's armies have been destroyed, the antichrist and false prophet have been cast into the lake of fire, and now Satan himself is forcefully banished into the abyss for a thousand years. He is not allowed to deceive the nations again until the thousand years are completed. At the end of the first thousand years of Christ's reign, Satan must be released for a short time to deceptively gather the unbelieving nations together for war against Christ. Satan convinces these nations to surround the New Jerusalem in opposition of Christ Himself. The ungodly nations are consumed by fire and the devil himself is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, to be tormented day and night, forever and ever.
