Knowing All Had Been Accomplished
Series Easter-Resurrection Day
Jesus, the Word of God, had been sent by the Father to accomplish the communication of history's most important message. John tells us that while on the cross, He knew He had accomplished that for which He had been sent. His work of being the sacrificial, substitutionary, Lamb had now been finished. Soon, He would return to the Father in glory.
In Isaiah, God tells us, "...so shall my Word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."
Jesus finished the work for which He had been sent. There was nothing left undone. There is nothing more that need be done. There is nothing more that can be done. It Is Finished.
If God can be trusted to accomplish the work of salvation for us, He can be trusted to finish the work of glorification in us.
