Good News on a Bad Friday

Today might be a bad Friday in the physical sense for lots of people throughout the world as many countries are being affected by the Corona Virus.

It is reported that the USA has had over 10,000 total deaths whilst Italy has over 16,000 total deaths from the virus.
In Australia this Good Friday might be a bad Friday for numbers of Australians as well.

We have had few deaths compared to other countries but over 5000 people here.. now have the virus.
The Corona Virus has caused a lock down in Australia and numbers of people people here may no longer have a job this Easter.
This Easter there will be Australians that are struggling with their mortgage or struggling with their rent. This Easter there will be businesses that are going broke because there are no customers and because they may not be allowed to open their doors.

This Easter there will be people that might find their savings have diminished because of the stock market and superannuation schemes taking a hit.

This Good Friday could be a bad Friday for many in the World…but I want to say that despite the bad news… there is always GOOD NEWS on every GOOD FRIDAY no matter what situation we find ourselves in!
Good News on Good Friday focuses on the fact that God in His great love sent His only Son to be the one and only sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. Jesus Christ was sacrificed for us on a hill called Calvary.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross at Calvary, there was 3 hours of darkness that pervaded the land, but amidst that darkness there was hope for the world.

I want us to examine some good news from the lips of Jesus as we look at His last sayings on the cross.
