A Child is Born

Hannah, unlike so many women of this day and generation, longed for a child. Suffering much from being provoked by Peninnah, Elkanah's other wife, she earnestly sought the Lord, promising that if He granted her request she would dedicate the child to the Lord's service. God granted her request and the child born was to become a great blessing to Israel during a time of great declension and distress.
