Address because of antichrists

In this passage, John addresses 3 groups of believers. Remembering we are viewing this book as a book of Assurance, we see why John addresses these groups. We also look at the encouragement he gives them. Then, we look at John's call to action for these groups. There is no doubt John calls them to action because of those who have risen against the teachings of Christ. Also, we realize we need a call to action. As we approach the last days, we too need a call to action. We need to stand against those who would teach contrary to the teachings of Christ.
