Last time we saw the holiness of Jesus cleansing the unclean. In the OT, the unclean contaminated the clean. Now, in Christ, the clean decontaminates the unclean.

The Gadarenes had asked Jesus to leave – these Gentiles were not yet ready to hear the good news of salvation. And so Jesus left and returned to his own city (Capernaum). He came to his own place – but his own people did not receive him. But to those who did receive him – who believed in his name – he gave the right to become children of God.
