II.Tearing Down the Idols of the Heart

A “stumblingblock” is a spiritual trip-stone placed in the pathway of our walk with Christ. A “stumblingblock” was anything that could cause you to fall or fail spiritually. Satan has put this false notion of favor with God due to “good works” in our pathway. Every believer is already a child of God. Every believer already has favor with God. Good works do not give us more favor in the eyes of God. Good works are the outcome of our New Creation “in Christ.” The only person who can produce “good works” is the person who is in a Spirit-filled relationship with God. “Good works” cannot appease God.
