Knowing the Power of Christ's Resurrection

Easter Sunday, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, is celebrated by hundreds of millions of people all over the world.

The resurrection of Christ makes Christianity unique among the religions of the world (whose founders are all dead). What is the significance of Jesus' resurrection to us today?

The Apostle Paul, in Philippians 3:10-11, states his passionate desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection. This Sunday we will examine what the power of Christ's resurrection meant to Paul and should mean to us.

1. Resurrection power flows to us from the historic event of Jesus' resurrection.

2. Resurrection power justifies us, not by our works, but through faith in the work of Christ.

3. Resurrection power is transforming (sanctifying) us now, conforming us to Christ.

4. Resurrection power will bring us to glory with the risen Christ at His return.
