Triumph

129

One of the grandest negatives in all of the Bible echoes across the landscape of the chapter's closing verses. There is no way, Paul was saying, that any of the threats to assurance can ever succeed in separating one believer from the love of Christ. The fact that the text asserts is that the love of Christ for His people is settled and can never be altered in any way. Therefore, even in the midst of the spiritual warfare in which they are engaged, they are enjoying the triumph that their Redeemer has secured for them through His sacrifice on the cross.
