Rethinking Revelation (pt. 1)

Dr. Jacobs begins a four part series on the Book of Revelation, explaining that the purpose of this book was to show Christ examining his church (symbolized by the seven lampstands) , then taking his church behind the veil into the holy throne room of God. The churches are given a divine view of their reality and worldly environment, and a clear understanding that it is God who rules this world.
The symbology in Revelation is drawn from the Old Testament and, despile the claims of some premillennial dispensationalists, is not meant to be recast as predictive of "end-times events" in the 21st century.
