The Fantasticness of God's Promises

This passage is part of the larger story of Abraham and Lot and the destruction of Sodom. However, the story starts with a wonderful scene of feast and fellowship. Abraham shows what hospitality is like to complete strangers. These strangers, however, are God and his angels. They confirm the promise of a son directly to Sarah who laughs at the promise. God in return gives one of the greatest statements in Scripture "Is there any thing too hard for the Lord?" Literally, "Is there any word too wonderful for the Lord?" This is a theme throughout the Scripture in which believers should revel.
