Do Not Love The World

John is saying that not only are we not to love the world system, not to buy into it, not to put our hope in, but if we do this is a sign that we do not have the love of the Father. In other words this is a sign that we are NOT a Christian!

This is a very serious statement!
You see there is NO middle ground between the Kingdom of God and the world. There is no compromise. As Christians we cannot live in both kingdoms.
No area of our life that is not under God’s control. Work, Mind/thoughts, Finances, politics, Leisure time.
Can’t be a Christian on Sunday and pagan on Monday - Cannot be like the world.
This issue right here is, in my view, the biggest problem with the Church. We want to make peace with the world. We want to be respected/loved by the world. We straddle the fence and as a consequence, we are in neither kingdom.
Jesus will accept nothing less than total allegiance!
