Better Than What You Hoped For

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem for His triumphal entry, starting the most important week in all of human history, there was a great disconnect between what the people wanted and what Jesus had come to do. The people, including His disciples, had hoped Jesus was ushering in an earthly kingdom that would throw off the shackles of Rome, give earthly peace, prosperity, and political power. Jesus, however, had come, not for those things, but for things that were far better than what they had hoped for.
