An Example in Striving

It is here in this handful of verses that Paul exhorts Timothy to be and do something as man, and do something as a minister. What we learn is that Timothy was useful to the church as minister not by what he would offer as an officer, but also as a man who was to never cease striving to be an example in his own faith/walk with the Lord. A minister is therefore offering the means of grace and also himself as an example of the Spirit does in the life of one who is in the very grip of grace. This week we will focus upon Timothy, the man who strived to believe and bear witness to the glory of God, and how we might strive as Timothy, and so receive the great reward from the Lord.
