Rightly Reading Divine Delays
Series Gospel of John
180 ( 169 | 11 )
How unusual that upon hearing of the sickness of his friend, Lazarus, the Lord would "abide two days still in the place where He was." When you think about it, though, Divine delays are very often the way that Christ deals with His people. Strictly speaking there's no such thing as a "Divine delay." God is always right on time but from a human perspective it may seem that God is delaying His answers to our heart cries to the point that our patience is sorely tried. In this study we consider how to rightly read Divine delays. 3 things the Christian must do: 1. He must be aware that Christ is aware; 2. He must read delays in the context of Christ's love; 3. He must be assured that delays serve the purpose of glorifying Christ.
