Greater Than Our Heart

Some of us today may be in this place of spiritual dryness. Some of us may question, am I truly saved. If not now, one day. Or minister to someone in this place.
What do we do? What do we say?
Asked another way how can we know that we are truly a believer?
In theological terms this is called assurance. How can we obtain assurance?

WCF 18 (addresses this specific point) is about assurance and says we can infallible assurance grounded in three areas. These areas are: (to paraphrase the WCF)

1. Our Assurance is based on divine promises found in the gospel
2. Our Assurance is based on Inward evidence of grace
3. Our Assurance is based on the Testimony of the Holy Spirit
   Each of these three are seen in this text. (but we are going to look at only the first 2)
