Correcting a Man-Centered Mindset
Series Harmony of the Gospels
46
We come this morning to an interesting example of the struggle for the Mindset of Christ's disciples. Becoming a Christian provides the foundation necessary for rejecting Man-Centered perspectives but does not guarantee we won't be influenced by them from time to time. It's important to admit this reality in our struggle, not so that we will “pick ourselves up by our own bootstraps” but that we would increase in humility before the Lord, requesting that He provide us with His perspective in all things.
So let's take to heart 3 lessons from this dialogue between Jesus and His disciples (most notably Peter who once again acts as their spokesman):
- The Requirement of a God-Centered Mission
- The Nature of a Man-Centered Reaction
- Our Need for an Exacting Correction
